Donald Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump appeared as directors on the nonprofit, Opening Day Foundation’s, paperwork. The Trump transition team released a statement indicating the paperwork and event details were “not approved or pursued by the trump Family.”

The Opening Day Foundation supports conservation efforts. The goal of the upcoming event is to celebrate the great outdoors and raise awareness to the public’s responsibility to protect the wilderness.

The Opening Day Foundation event will also commemorate the inauguration of Donald J. Trump. There is no mention of the Trumps attending the event.

The new Opening Day Foundation pamphlet, viewable below, list Donald Jr. and Eric as cochairman. The nonprofit paperwork, filed with the state of Texas, listed Donald Jr. and Eric as members of the board of directors. However, until the paperwork is final, it is difficult to know whether they would have ever been members of the board. Being on paperwork without your knowledge is possible. When filling out the paperwork for the organization Donald Jr. and Eric could be listed without their knowledge. The forms for registering a nonprofit are readily available on the Texas Secretary of State’s website.

Although the Trump sons are honorary cochairman, of a nonprofit protecting wilderness event, the Wilderness society is opposing the presidential elect’s fossil fuel agenda. The landing page of the wilderness.org site asks people to donate and “fight against Trump’s fossil fuel agenda.” Donations made to wilderness.org are currently matching.
